A lot of cities in the U.S. experience temperatures of more than 100 degrees with the electricity grid straining. Dan Delurey, the president of the
Demand Response and Smart Grip Coalition, is open to talk about using new smart grid technologies and practices to guarantee the dependability of the electric grid as well as lessen costs and emissions. Delurey can
clarify how the current electricity system operates and also how it will change as the Smart Grid is created and deployed.
Delurey, who has more than 25 years experience in the electricity industry, has held executive positions with numerous utilities and technology companies. He has also had energy-related experience at both the state and local government level. Delurey founded several different coalitions that concentrate on energy as well as environmental issues. He has repeatedly spoken at conferences in the US and around the globe.
The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition, a trade association for companies that offer products and services in the areas of demand response and smart grid, operates to educate and offer information to policymakers, the media, the financial community, utilities and stakeholders. This information is on how demand response and smart grid technologies can help alter the electricity system and offer new information and options for managing the electricity use of customers.
Aclara, Boeing, CABA, Echelon, Google, KMC Controls, LG Electronics, Lockheed Martin, SmartSynch, and Whirlpool are just some of the members of DRSG.
The president of the Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition Grid made an appearance on July 7, 2010 on NPR's All Things Considered. He said that demand response can offer a virtual power plant as an alternative to forcing another power plant to be sent out. Demand response is a practice that demonstrates the smart grid in action.
