Salesforce.com and NTT Communications recently announced that salesforce.com's Tokyo data center, which is housed in NTT Communications' world-class data center facility has gone live. The data center is expected to deliver exceptional reliability and performance for social enterprises across Japan and Asia Pacific.
Combining salesforce.com's highly efficient, multitenant cloud computing architecture with NTT Communications' eco-conscious operations, the Tokyo data center is expected to leave minimal carbon footprint.

salesforce.com has been experiencing a steady growth in the demand for enterprise services in the markets across Japan and Asia Pacific. The Tokyo data center will support the rapid adoption of these services among the customers in these regions, Salesforce officials pointed out in a press release.

NTT Communications' extensive infrastructure includes Arcstar Global IP-VPN and Global e-VLAN, as well as a Tier-1 IP backbone reaching more than 150 countries in partnership with major Internet service providers, and secure data centers in Asia, North America and Europe.

Earlier, Salesforce.com announced the release of Radian6 Social Marketing Cloud. The technology behind the new feature comes from Salesforce.com's acquisition of Radian (6 earlier this year. Salesforce.com said that the new Social Marketing Cloud, which has been integrated into Salesforce's CRM platform and apps, will help companies change how they do business in the era of social media, by transforming social conversations into “meaningful engagements”.
