Petra Solar's IntelliView Platform Manages an Array of Smart Grid Applications

By Mini Swamy September 26, 2011

Petra Solar, which pioneered new technology that combines distributed solar energy generation with Smart Grid communications and improved grid reliability features, launched IntelliView, a smart energy platform that manages a wide range of smart grid applications.

"The robust platform is scalable to future smart grid applications, including energy efficiency, energy conservation, grid reliability and smart microgrids,” said Dr. Shihab Kuran, President and CEO of Petra Solar, in a press release.

This smart energy platform enables remote command and control of large distributed energy systems. While the Network Management System provides users a dashboard view of all elements in the communications network, the Energy Management System module helps users to have a centralized view of SunWave smart solar systems that extend extensively.

Petra Solar's innovative SunWave system provides distributed clean energy that doesn't require an upgrade to the distribution infrastructure and hence eliminates grid connection issues that generally plague traditional solar systems.

In addition, the company stated that Intelliview's modular design paves the way for additional data-analytics modules. Alerts, performance summaries, and mesh networking diagnostics help in identifying problems and resolving them in a quick manner. Users can also ensure peak generation and maximize their investments.

As Petra Solar expands its smart energy services offering, utilities can get the benefits from their investments without losing focus on the key functions of their operations.

IoTevolutionworld reported that Petra Solar was named the winner in both the Smart Grid & Smart Instruments category and the Clean Tech/Green Tech category of the TechAmerica Foundation's American Technology Awards.
