BPL Global, a smart grid technology company, has just released version 3.5 of its Connected Energy or CNRG smart grid solution suite designed for advanced distribution automation of the electrical network.
According to company sources, the suite streamlines integrated management of smart grid solutions from substations through customer premises. As it is based on a common architecture, a broad range of smart grid solutions meant for the distribution grid can collaborate with each other.
This cross collaboration of smart grid solutions help in decision automation. Also, the responses in the grid will enhance reliability and efficiency besides ensuring a smart grid deployment.
In a release Pete Londa, CEO of BPL Global said, “The Connected Energy Smart Grid Solution suite enables utilities to plan and execute their long term smart grid roadmaps on a unified system architecture.”
“Utilities can sequence deployment of solutions to maximize their investments in smart grid technologies from substations through customer premises such as renewable energy, smart meters, load management, energy storage, asset monitoring and substation automation,” Londa added.
BPLG’s solutions are able to bridge “islands of intelligence” further adding to the independent deployment of specific smart grid solutions like advanced metering, demand management and/or substation automation. Thus, the smart grid solutions are optimized by the infrastructure shared through information and integrated management, said company officials.
The Connected Energy solution serves as the integration layer that enables seamless collaboration between the substation and distribution solutions, besides also linking any smart grid application deployed by a utility. For the distribution grid, the load management solution ensures direct load control with unique monitoring, measurement and verification capabilities that are most suitable for peak load reduction, load shifting and ancillary services.
The company’s DER Management solution implements collaborative management of distributed energy resources like customer load, energy storage, distributed generation and renewables. The distribution grid is leveraged by the grid management solution to monitor power quality. BPLG offers its family of Serveron On-line Transformer Monitors and next-generation Substation Automation technology in the substations, added officials.
Recently, BPL Global announced partnerships with Delta Dore, Edelia, Saft, Schneider Electric, Tenesol and Electricite de France (EDF) to deploy a smart grid project on the islands of Corsica, Guadeloupe and La Reunion.
