Power Assure EM/4 Software Certified for Use with STARLINE CPM Meters

Provider of data center infrastructure and energy management solutions Power Assure has announced that its Power Assure EM/4 software has been certified for use with the STARLINE Critical Power Monitor (CPM) meters.

The company’ software now comes with detailed measurements from STARLINE Busway and Raceway power distribution systems. The visibility, intelligence, and automation provided by this integration is expected to help CIOs, IT directors, and facilities managers, enabling them to optimize capacity, service levels and power consumption within and across data centers.

For the data center, Power Assure software offers actionable, real-time and historical insight into power utilization and other key performance indicators (KPIs). In addition, it also provides the means to optimize energy efficiency while maintaining service levels.

With the help of Power Assure, data centers can gain real-time infrastructure insight and intelligence, maximize use of available space and power. In addition, they can also extend the useful life of the data center; cut on-going power consumption by an average of 50 percent; and shift load within and across sites, according to company officials.

STARLINE CPM comes with the ability to monitor and provide real-time power information directly from busway meters, said Mark Swift, business development manager at STARLINE.

Swift said that by taking advantage of this ability Power Assure’s energy manager software can synthesize data from the STARLINE CPM and combine it with IT and other facilities data into meaningful information, helping the company’s customers get the visibility, insight and intelligence to improve efficiency, capacity and performance of their data centers.

This year in April, Power Assure announced that its Dynamic Power Management and Dynamic Power Optimization software interoperates with Cisco's Unified Computing System (UCS) Blade servers.
