IMImobile's UnIspace UGC Platform Wins Gold at Mobile Search Awards 2008

By Rajani Baburajan September 23, 2008
IMImobile, a company that provides value added services (VAS) for mobile operators, content providers and media agencies, announced that its user generated content (UGC) platform, UnIspace, has won a Gold award for the “Best Entertainment or Information Service” at the Mobile Search Awards (MSA) 2008.

MSA Awards were set up by Visiongain, an independent media company in Europe, and recognizes the top mobile companies around the world. IMImobile is the first and the only Indian company to win this award, the company said.

UnIspace from IMImobile enables social networking on-the-go. It allows users to upload and share content via short messaging service (SMS), multimedia message service (MMS), 3rd generation (3G) video call, Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Web with a host of other interactive applications. Users are also allowed to sell their audio, video pictures or text content and earn rewards when downloaded by other subscribers.

“IMImobile is delighted to win Gold at the Mobile Search Awards,” said Vishwanath Alluri, IMImobile chairman, founder and CEO, in a media statement. “We are committed to developing and managing innovative services that will be real cash generators for our customers and add genuine value to the end-users’ experience. This latest award is further evidence that we are firmly on the right track as we continue to expand around the world”.

Commenting on the selection process of MSA 08, Julian Pasin, leading Visiongain telecom analyst and one of the judging panelists, said, “The high-quality of services and innovation on offer from all the participants made judging the awards an arduous task but ultimately bears testament to the rapid growth and evolution of mobile search. We congratulate all participants on the strides they are making for mobile search.”

IMImobile provides carrier-grade messaging platforms and gateways, content management systems, and voice platforms through managed services. Services provided by these platforms include interactive portals, community and user generated content applications, caller ring back tone and video streaming.

IMImobile was recently recognized as the “Emerging Company of the Year 2008” by Voice & Data, an IT publication from CyberMedia.
