Cortado, a mobile communications technology company, has launched new mobile application software for RIM’s BlackBerry smartphones.
The Cortado Corporate Server Professional facilitates BlackBerry smartphone users to access their company network files and folders, including shared drives and document management systems such as Sharepoint or SAP enterprise portal, all in a secured manner. Users can also organize their files stored on the company network by using desktop functions such as copy, paste, cut, delete, rename and create new folders.
"An increasing dilemma for employees is staying productive while out of the office," explained Christoph Hammer, CTO of Cortado, North America, in a statement. "However, with Corporate Server Professional, mobile employees have up-to-date access to a variety of corporate data streams, such as customer information, corporate directories and reports. The new software offers a solution so that employees can become independent from the classic desk/office setup."
The Cortado Corporate Server Professional also enables its users to print in original format to any Bluetooth-enabled or network printer. The software can also send faxes. It can even present documents from the smartphone on to a computer screen or a projector. The software can scale up to maximum of 30 users.
According to Cortado, the new software has the ability to improve the productivity of small businesses. It increases productivity by extending the corporate network and desktop via the smartphone, thereby providing users with access to important information even on the go.
Roger Guerrero, sales manager for enterprise solutions, Cortado, said, "Small businesses' competitive advantage often comes not only from innovative products but also from their ability to be flexible and react quickly.”
Guerrero added, "Cortado Corporate Server Professional allows BlackBerry smartphone users to perform 90 percent of their daily tasks that require access to their company network with no ties to a conventional desktop. Response times are dramatically shortened and flexibility is increased."
