Westcon Group announced that its MobilityPoint program has picked Ascom’s unique Voice over Wireless LAN
(VoWLAN)-based products and solutions, in order to provide resellers with more increased margin opportunities while selling their wireless solutions.
The MobilityPoint program that features Ascom's 802.11b/g-Based VoWiFi Solutions, has also introduced handsets and VoIP
Gateways to its reseller community. This means that resellers who have access to Westcon Group's MobilityPoint program can now leverage Ascom's innovative products, such as its durable wireless handsets and flexible VoIP Gateways.
Westcon Group, Inc. distributes networking, security, mobility and convergence for various technology vendors that include Cisco, Nortel, Avaya and Polycom.
European-based Ascom is a provider of solutions with complete technological expertise in mission-critical wireless solutions. The company primarily deals with wireless solutions and security solutions. The wireless solutions include high-value, customer-specific, on-site communications solutions, while security solutions include applications for security, communication, automation and control systems for infrastructure operators, public security institutions and the Army.
MobilityPoint is Westcon Group's comprehensive solutions program, mainly focusing on the wireless market. The program combines best-in-class products and services with up-to-date product information, market intelligence and sales tools that are designed to drive the mobility opportunity in the channel.

Ascom solutions are said to be compatible for any vertical market. Its solutions have been well-received, particularly in the healthcare industry, where the healthcare practitioners have to depend on the seamless delivery of mission-critical messages, alerts and data directly to their handsets, says the company.

The Westcon Group that incorporates Westcon, Voda One and Comstor business practices, also sells products and services to resellers, systems integrators and service providers.
The Westcon Group also has expertise in the convergence of voice, data and video applications and technologies, including voice-over Internet protocol
, or VoIP, security for networking and communications systems, remote access, Internet and e-business, virtual private networks, videoconferencing and wireless connectivity.
