MO-Call Provides Low-Cost Calls from Windows Mobile

By Anuradha Shukla May 27, 2008
Morodo has announced that its MO-Call low-cost calling software can now support Windows Mobile Smartphone and Pocket PC GSM devices.

By using Morodo’s intuitive MO-Call software, consumers using mobiles from several leading manufacturers such as Palm and Motorola, can now save up to 90 percent of the cost of their international calls, at home or abroad.

MO-Call software for Windows Mobile can be downloaded free from the MO-Call website: http://www.mo-call.com.

Technical Director at Morodo, James Barnes said that MO-Call for Windows Mobile has been developed to offer a seamless way of using the MO-Call service. He explained that it's simple to make calls at a greatly reduced cost and there's no need to change the way a person uses their mobile.

“Once the application is switched on, just dial and save,” he added.

Barnes was particularly happy with this achievement as it represents a good example of porting an existing application to yet another technology platform. The company’s research and development team in Beijing, China intends to provide software applications for every popular mobile device group, operating system and manufacturer, offering the widest possible hardware footprint for the MO-Call service.

Headquartered in London, Morodo Group offers mobile services to a global customer base under the MO-Call brand. They also offer software services (under license) to traditional telecoms carriers, mobile networks and brand name owners.

Earlier this month, the company announced that its popular low-cost calling service, MO-Call, can now be used from the Apple iPhone. Morodo’s Managing Director, Andrew Reid finds the iPhone a very desirable object, but thinks everyone agrees that there’s not much to like about Mobile Network Operator call charges.

He said that MO-Call for the iPhone provides a great money-saving alternative for consumers and believes this is yet another step towards their goal of becoming a global Virtual International Mobile Network Operator.
