Myxer, a provider of ad-supported mobile content, today launched support for the iPhone through its Web site.
Saying the iPhone is part of today’s new mobile economy and like Myxer, helping to change the landscape of today’s mobile environment, Myk Willis, chief executive officer at Myxer, said, “We’re delighted to invite iPhone users to expand their mobile content choices through open access to Myxer’s catalog and broad array of mobile content delivery services.”
This launch enables iPhone users to join current Myxer customers in accessing one of the biggest selections of free, ad-supported mobile content in the industry, including MP3 clips and ringtones, according to Myxer.
Introduced by Apple last year, iPhone is one of the most popular devices in the market. It offers mobile entertainment and media player integrated with a Web browser and phone.
Myxer’s officials say iPhone users, by going through the Myxer catalog, can select their favorite ringtones and can download them to their desktop. And, by dragging the ringtones into their iTunes ringtone folder, user can make it available for their iPhone, company officials say.
Myxer says that the addition of iPhone further rounds out its already robust offerings, with service across every major wireless carrier and in support of thousands of different mobile phones.
Recently, Frost & Sullivan presented the “2008 North American Award for Key Market Enabler in U.S. Advertising Markets” to Myxer, based on its analysis of U.S. mobile advertising markets.
The company was chosen for its creative solution to key industry challenges, as well as its benefit to the mobile value chain and role in the market, according to Myxer.
Myxer has emerged as one of the largest providers of ad-supported mobile content in the United States, and plays a key role in enabling ad-supported mobile content services, according to Frost & Sullivan.
