Prkfast Enters Agreement with SAP Vehicles Network

By Ken Briodagh March 15, 2017

Prkfast, a tech startup with a mobile app for searching and paying for off-street parking, has announced a new agreement with SAP to provide cashless parking services via SAP Vehicles Network.

Through the agreement with SAP, Prkfast will enable mobile users to search for the parking facility nearest to the user’s current location or desired destination, and make a reservation to secure the parking spot and pay for it in advance. By connecting to SAP Vehicles Network, Prkfast is able to access and book over 1,000,000 parking spots, amongst 8,000 garages in North America and Europe.

“SAP Vehicles Network offers a consolidated view of inventory by merging sourcing of many parking options from different aggregators, thereby bringing value and saving precious time to the user, by not having to open multiple apps when searching for the absolute best parking in one of the 235 supported cities,” said Damián Fernández, CEO, Prkfast.

SAP Vehicles Network harnesses the power of SAP Cloud Platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) and offers member companies and partners the opportunity to create new mobility services and apps for consumer use. It is designed to improve the way drivers can benefit from mobile and geo-location services. This end-to-end digital mobile user experience can cover entire trips, helping drivers before, during and after the journey. SAP Vehicles Network also allows app providers and automotive companies an opportunity to gain access to tens of thousands of mobile payment-enabled parking garages and gas stations in key markets. As a result, companies can improve the driver and passenger's digital experience by using mobile wallets and third-party apps for an integrated in-vehicle experience.

Connected Transportation is developing faster than many IoT segments, and partnerships like this are going to keep the momentum building at a pace that will be hard for other verticals to catch.
