Smart Water Heaters: The Next Smart Home Must-Have

By Ken Briodagh January 13, 2017

Bollente Companies, Inc. recently unveiled the next generation of its multi-award winning tankless water heating technology at the International Builders Show.

Enhancements to the trutankless smart water heater include updated WiFi capabilities, compatibility with 5G wireless technology, a new touchscreen with improved user interface, and refined thermal efficiencies. A free app for iOS or Android communicates with the WiFi system to provide the user with operating performance, and any alerts are sent directly to a compatible smartphone— enabling remote access from anywhere in the world. Because the new unit operates at both 50Hz and 60Hz frequencies, it will run in the majority of international households. It also meets European Union RoHS compliance standards and is FCC certified.

Earlier this year, the company was granted 32 patent claims protecting its technology. Several new claims are currently pending. The patents represent key advancements that are driving demand for trutankless among builders and remodelers around the world.

“trutankless remains at the forefront of water heating technology,” said Michael Stebbins, President, trutankless. “We were the first to successfully fuse eco-conscious, electric tankless engineering with smart home capabilities, and we've never stopped innovating. We're looking forward to showcasing the new trutankless at this year's IBS show, where it all began for us.”

The company launched its first-generation trutankless unit at the IBS show in 2014, where it was named “Best Home Technology Product.” trutankless also took home the Governor's Award of Merit for Energy and Technology Innovation at Arizona Forward's Environmental Excellence Awards in the same year. Since then, the product has garnered accolades for its forward-thinking technology and energy efficiency, including a silver award in the Appliance Design Excellence in Design contest, a Special Mention in the Architizer A+ Awards, and was named a Hot Product by the editors of Green Builder Magazine. Featured as a water saving device in Consumer Reports' Top 5 Remodeling Trends for 2016 write-up, trutankless was also named “Best of Houzz 2016,” representing continued success among Houzz.com's 40,000,000 homeowners.
