M2M Alliance Signs Marketing Agreement with M2M Zone for CeBIT 2010

By Rajani Baburajan November 30, 2009
Horizon House Publications, the North American organizer of the M2M Zone exhibitions, announced that it has entered into a marketing agreement with the European-based M2M Alliance to make the CeBIT trade show one of the most important European gatherings for the M2M industry.

CeBIT, which takes place every March in the German city of Hannover, drew more than 350,000 IT and communications professionals in 2009 from a variety of different industries, according to official reports.

Under the joint agreement, the M2M Alliance will play an active role in developing content for conferences and Web sites, in exchange for preferred pricing for its members at M2M Zone events, officials at M2M Alliance said. Both sides will provide the use of its marketing channels to the other in preparation for CeBIT 2010.

This combined initiative will bring together the American and European M2M Industry, hope officials at both organizations.

According to Ivar Bazzy, CEO of Horizon House, CeBIT is the only trade show in Europe that draws executives from a number of vertical markets that are crucial to M2M providers, including the automotive industry, healthcare and telecommunications.

Horizon House organizes two M2M Zone exhibitions annually at shows put on by the CTIA – the leading North American trade association for wireless communication technology.

M2M Alliance is an open organization established with an aim to enhance innovation and growth of the M2M market. It currently has more than 30 members in eight countries.
“This agreement goes well beyond the typical trade-media partnership,” said Georg Steimel, board chairman of the M2M Alliance, in a statement.

“All parts of the M2M value chain are present on CeBIT but distributed across the whole show floor,” Steimel continued. “With this offering, M2M Alliance and Horizon House concentrate the growing M2M industry in a dedicated pavilion. Our members will receive value in the form of preferential pricing and an increased international profile.”
