MultiTech Systems, Inc. is a leading global supplier of Industrial IoT communication devices and services. Its product, the MultiTech MultiConnect microCell LTE USB Cellular Modem (MTCM2 Series has received the 2020 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award from IoT Evolution World, which is the leading website covering IoT technologies.

The device is the latest addition to the MultiTech portfolio of private LTE devices, These products support CBRS and other dedicated 4G-LTE bands around the globe. There is a choice of form factors that respond to the demand for robust asset connectivity within industrial and enterprise applications.

“USB modems are used the world over to connect the millions of assets out there that lack native wireless connectivity,” said Daniel Quant, VP, Strategic Development, MultiTech Systems, Inc. “With CBRS now off to the races, the simple plug & play microCell has already been quickly adopted by educational, industrial, real estate and commercial enterprises operating OnGo networks for improved coverage, privacy and cost. We are honored by the recognition from IoT Evolution.”

“The solutions selected for the IoT Evolution Product of Year Award reflect the diverse range of innovation driving the multi-billion dollar IoT market today. It is my honor to congratulate MultiTech for their innovative work and superior contribution to the rapidly evolving IoT industry,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC, and co-publisher, IoT Evolution World.

The MultiConnect microCell is a compact and simple communications platform that provides cellular capabilities for fixed and mobile applications. It is intended for use in settings such as remote learning, workplace health and safety, worker productivity, vending PoS, machinery control, smart inventory tracking equipment and manufacturing applications. The award-winning microCell can be used with drivers for Windows 10, Linux and Apple iOS. It can also be controlled through AT commands. This is ideal for failover, out-of-band management or primary internet connection over private and neutral host public access CBRS networks. It enables plug-and-play connectivity to a wide range of new and legacy assets and is powered via its USB interface.

“It is my pleasure to recognize MultiTech microCell LTE USB Cellular Modem an innovative solution that earned MultiTech the 2020 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award,” said Ken Briodagh, editorial director, IoT Evolution World. “I look forward to seeing even more innovation from MultiTech in the future.”
