By Ken Briodagh August 30, 2018

Multi-Tech Systems, a manufacturer of M2M and IoT devices, has introduced its new MultiConnect microCell USB cellular modem.

This latest addition to the MultiTech portfolio of cellular connectivity products for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), the MultiConnect microCell, is designed to be easy to install and configure through AT commands. Made for failover, out-of-band management or primary internet connection over the Sprint network, it provides connectivity to intelligent appliances and is powered via USB interface.

“Sprint is building a dedicated Internet of Things core network and operating system to power the immediate economy and create value for businesses virtually everywhere,” said Ricky Singh, chief of products and solutions, Sprint IoT. “Having robust, easy to deploy devices that allow us and our customers to quickly bring IoT solutions to market are key, and the MultiConnect microcell fits that philosophy very well.”

“The MultiConnect microCell is an easy way to connect your devices to the internet with ease,” said Derek Wallace, Director of Product Marketing, MultiTech. “Its compact size and industrial packaging make it suitable for a myriad of IoT applications across vertical industries, leveraging the reliability and coverage of the Sprint network.”
