The Network and the IoT: A Necessary Partnership

By Ken Briodagh May 05, 2015

The IoT is nothing without the network that connects the sensors, servers, devices and cloud architecture. Without the network, the devices aren’t smart and without smart devices there isn’t an IoT.

Now that creating new IoT solutions for business is becoming easy as plug and play, simply getting solutions online isn’t enough. Devices need to be smarter than that. Solutions need a network. Developers need a strategy that not only addresses data goals and targeted analytics, but also security and QoS concerns.

In an upcoming free webinar, sponsored by Telit Wireless Solutions and entitled “Network Selection to Connect Edge Devices to the Internet of Things and the Enterprise,” industry insiders and pros of the network ecosphere Tim Hennen, Director of Sales for m2mAIR Mobile North America at Telit and Paul Bishop, Technology Team Leader for m2mAIR Mobile North America at Telit, will speak with Crossfire Media CEO Carl Ford about how they make the correct network choices for each IoT deployment with which they’re involved. They’ll talk about how it is essential for any business in the IoT to create flexible configurations of services and connectivity if the solutions are going to work for customers in the long run.

There are dozens of easy to use tools to make business offerings more valuable and user friendly, while helping to move the IoT toward better security and, ultimately, more universal acceptance.

This master class in IoT network deployment will cover network selection, inherent risks to data and users, QoS monitoring tools and much more. If your company is involved in development for the IoT, you want to set this hour aside. That includes CIOs, operation managers with field services teams, technology-based service providers and developers.
