Today, connected solutions providers Sierra Wireless and Tech Mahindra Ltd. entered a formal agreement to team up and collaboratively work on developing M2M solutions for customers around the world. While Sierra Wireless is an expert in connecting devices to the cloud, Tech Mahindra’s application development and integration expertise complement its services excellently, allowing both companies to work together to develop unparalleled turnkey M2M solutions.
By using AirPrime embedded wireless modules, AirVantage M2M Cloud and AirLink gateways and modems, the collaboration hopes to provide effective and low-cost solutions for M2M customers in several industries including energy, transportation, industrial manufacturing and healthcare. According to Sierra Wireless’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Marketing, Jason Krause, “Our collaboration with Tech Mahindra leverages our complementary offerings and skill sets to deliver complete M2M solutions that can be deployed within existing IT infrastructures, and extend to new web and mobile applications… Customers can rely on our partnership to develop, deploy and support a complete M2M solution on any of the world’s mobile networks.”
Tech Mahindra will be providing consulting and solutions integration services to partners of the collaboration to ensure that the solutions are still running smoothly after their implementation. “Tech Mahindra’s global telecommunication partnerships, advanced analytics, and renowned system integration capabilities allow us to rapidly prototype, collaboratively develop, and launch fully integrated M2M solutions on a fully managed or hosted basis,” says Raju Waldalkar, Tech Mahindra’s chief technical officer of Telecom.
Tech Mahindra is a much larger company than Sierra Wireless, with nearly 100 times the number of global employees, and is worth $2.9 billion. By joining forces with Sierra Wireless, it is able to leverage Sierra’s superior M2M connection services to seamlessly blend together products from both companies into a single cohesive working network solution.
