Shafron explains that “Viewbiquity is about choice, and choice means open platforms and systems,” which means that by making it in Javascript, they can provide it to the widest range of customers at a lower TCO and a faster time to development.

It’s that kind of choice that is very important to Viewbiquity, as the company has often spoken in favor of standard protocols. Of course, being able to pick and choose within an open standard also creates affordability, as there’s no need to invest extra in any specialized features.

“It’s all about choice,” explains Shafron, “and what choice does is it reduces total cost of ownership. If you go with a proprietary system, you’re looking at specialized services, specialized employees, which radically increase total cost of ownership of your solution over time.”
