The machine-to-machine (M2M) market is growing at a very fast rate, and new players are entering the space to get a foothold while the industry is relatively young. The latest company to do so is Telenity, by introducing two new solutions – the Canvas m2mConnect, an M2M connectivity and Device Management Platform; and Canvas m2mEnable, an M2M Service Enablement Platform.
The two systems can integrate with one another to give mobile operators the tools to produce more services for multiple verticals, subsequently increasing revenue.
The M2M evolution is changing how businesses operate by giving them real-time information from their connected machines. The information they gather on a 24/7 basis lets them create better products and provide never-before-seen customer service regarding any issues related to the product.
This information also allows them to create new business models based on the continual intelligence gathering capability of the technology.
Some of the features of the Canvas m2mConnect M2M Connectivity and Device Management Platform are: handling connectivity management with efficiency and reliability, simplifying the M2M ecosystem for easier business operations, M2M partner account management, settlement and revenue management, and SIM management to provide policies that are flexible for billing and charging.
Benefits of this platform include: connectivity monitoring, integration with existing BSS and OSS platforms, support of innovative business models for advanced partnership management, and automated provisioning and lifecycle management of M2M module connectivity.
The Canvas m2mEnable, M2M Service Enablement Platform gives partners tools for cooperation so they can create new services for customers. Cooperation among network operators is made possible by letting them use the platform to manage their services in a centralized manner, so that corporate partners can self-manage and develop applications that make sense for their operations.
This platform also facilitates access to information from multiple devices and applications, as well as faster onboarding of new M2M services from vertical partners. It reduces M2M application development time as well.
“Telenity’s M2M solutions provide mobile operators with capabilities to offer secure managed connectivity and value-added services to their enterprise customers across a variety of vertical segments. These solutions not only dramatically increase efficiency in business processes but also allow new ways of interaction between upstream and downstream customers in delivering value – enabling emerging two-sided (Telco 2.0) business models for operators and enterprises,” said Gurol Akman, CTO at Telenity.
The decision to enter this market is based on the services the company provides for complimentary M2M applications. This includes global partnerships in smart metering, vehicle tracking and fleet management, with cloud-based enterprise solutions where M2M has been in place for some time.
The M2M market is expected to grow by more than 25 percent until 2020, with addressable revenue reaching an estimated $373 billion.
