Redpine Signals, Inc. recently bagged the Frost & Sullivan Global Wireless Solutions and RTLS Technology Innovation Award for 2012.
Headquartered in San Jose, California, Redpine Signals specializes in the adoption of self-contained 802.11n modules into the then-emerging M2M market. It offers chipsets, modules and solutions covering multiple market segments, including industrial, consumer electronics, medical, mobile, PC, and smart energy.
Its technology portfolio includes multi-stream 802.11n, 802.11ac, BT4.0 and mobile WiMax (802.16e).
“Redpine's focus has been on delivering best-in-class solutions for the Wi-Fi market, both mainstream and the Internet of Things, M2M space," said Venkat Matella, CEO at Redpine Signals.
"We offer one of the strongest Wi-Fi product portfolios in the industry, and have been facilitating the adoption of up-to-date technology by our more than 1,500 customers in the medical, building automation, smart grid, transportation, industrial and RTLS markets in the U.S., Europe and Asia,” Matella added. “We are excited at our impact on the industry being recognized by this Frost & Sullivan award."
Redpine’s introduction of Quali-Fi 802.11ac technology and iSeMote RTLS products has ushered in a revolution in the market with features of the draft IEEE 802.11ac standard in the 5 GHz band, with high data transfer rates at ultra-low-power profiles, providing the ideal connectivity mechanism of next-generation smartphones, tablets, HDTVs, cameras and other mobile devices.
In addition, Redpine's chipsets with this technology include the RS9117, a single spatial stream, dual-band combo device featuring 802.11n/ac and BT 4.0; and the RS9333, a unique simultaneous dual-band 5GHz MIMO 802.11ac + 2.4GHz BT4.0, 802.11n chipset that can be configured to be operational in the two different bands simultaneously.
Frost & Sullivan Global Wireless Solutions and RTLS Technology Innovation Award was presented to Redpine Signals in an event held Tuesday, September 11, in San Jose, Calif., at The Fairmont San Jose.
