Battle of the Platforms Allows Attendees to Evaluate M2M Platforms Side by Side

Top platform vendors to pitch to audience and judges at M2M Evolution Conference & Expo event October 2nd at 2pm in Austin

NORWALK, Conn. – September 13, 2012 – The top M2M platform players will square off in Austin as the M2M Evolution Conference and Expo presents Battle of the Platforms, an exciting opportunity for service providers, enterprise managers and independent M2M application developers to learn about the network platform solutions that can help manage and deliver M2M solutions, TMC and Crossfire Media announced.

Battle of the Platforms is a half day pre-conference event at M2M Evolution being held Tuesday, October 2, 2012, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas. M2M Evolution is collocated with ITEXPO, the world’s largest and best attended communications and technology trade show.

“Battle of the Platforms is a great way to see how much machine-to-machine technology is evolving,” said Carl Ford, Crossfire Media co-founder and Battle of the Platforms judge. “This event allows attendees to understand the benefits of network platforms and evaluate platforms side by side to understand how companies are differentiating themselves. They can then follow up with companies that match their needs the best. It is an unbelievable opportunity for companies to see implementations that can be incorporated into their own strategies.”

Companies participating in Battle of the Platforms include Digi International, Eurotech, Gurtam, KORE Telematics, Locaid, OnAsset, Sensaware and VisTracks. Additional companies will be announced soon. Each company will give its best pitch in front of the audience and a panel of judges, including James Brehm of Compass (News - Alert) Intelligence, Carl Ford of Crossfire Media and Alan Quayle of Alan Quayle Associates. Awards will be presented in four categories with one of the four winners being chosen for Best Overall Platform:

  • Best platform for enabling independent applications developer to work with M2M devices;
  • Best platform for business intelligence (BI) controls solutions;
  • Best platform for service providers to support wholesale services;
  • Best platform for enterprise deployment.

Battle of the Platforms is a free event open to all M2M Evolution attendees, but attendees must register to secure a seat. Registration for M2M Evolution Conference and Expo is also available. For media registration, contact Ashley Baster.
