Nawras Introduces M2M Data Plans

Oman-based mobile carrier Nawras has just announced data plans for cost-effective M2M (Machine to Machine) data communications.

The service operates using any SIM card-capable device and allows devices such as those in the security, healthcare, and devices controlling oil and gas production, among others to communicate with each other in real time.

"With M2M from Nawras, companies can communicate cost-effectively and more efficiently. In an ever-changing world where companies rely more and more on gathering real time information from systems such as vehicle tracking, remote reading of electricity meters and health care applications, Nawras has developed a dedicated mobile data plan to cater for this. Companies looking for a large number of data SIM cards with an attractive rate need look no further,” Ali Bakhit Hassan Kashoob, a product manager for Nawras said.

Customers can choose from a variety of M2M packages with a choice of four tariffs that suit their needs. If they go over their allotted data transfers, a pay-as-you-go plan kicks in to keep their services up. Nawras says their plans are competitively priced.

The company says that M2M has only been introduced after talking with their customers to find out what their needs are. Corporate customers in the Sultanate of Oman interested in the service can sign up by talking to their dedicated account manager.

The carrier has not neglected human beings who want to communicate anywhere in the world. Nawras has also extended its cheap long-distance rates to 10 hours a day at a cost of 49 baiza per minute ($0.13 U.S.) using a special prefix.

The carrier is also bringingtwo news services, Reuters and Asia News, to mobile phones and tablets using the company’s prepaid and postpaid service plans. The services add to other news services available, including CNN, BC, Koora Mobile, Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya.
