Luxoft Recognized with the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Europe Competitive Strategy Innovation Award in Telematics and Infotainment

By Calvin Azuri September 30, 2011

Luxoft, provider of application and product engineering outsourcing services for enterprise IT organizations and software vendors, has been recognized with the 2011 Frost & Sullivan Europe Competitive Strategy Innovation Award in Telematics and Infotainment. Luxoft was recognized with this award for implementation of unique strategy, for improving its market position and for its use of competitive intelligence.

The company which has expanded its base of operations from being an outsourcing software support company to providing complete technology solutions is rapidly expanding its presence as a software supplier for the in-vehicle connected infotainment and telematics sector across Europe, North America, and Russia. At present Luxoft is exploring a number of areas in the telematics and infotainment market.

In a release, Praveen Chandrasekar, Research Analyst, Frost & Sullivan, said, "It is also differentiating itself by looking at different operating systems such as Android and Linux for different features for passengers and drivers. This is one of the first such noteworthy efforts in the automotive industry."

At a time when leading suppliers are delivering Android based solutions for the central head unit, Luxoft is delivering Android to the rear seats via DroidBUZZ. Luxoft's DashCore solutions are evident of the company's understanding of pressing requirements across the infotainment industry. It also illustrates how the company's suite of open and scalable solutions can be customized to meet the needs of Tier 1 suppliers and vehicle manufacturers.

Chandrasekar said, "With such a three pronged strategy which effectively covers the needs of drivers as well as passengers, Luxoft with its software development and support expertise is definitely differentiating itself in a clear way compared to its competition, which is not offering such a wholesome suite of products and solutions catering to the connected car.”

Luxoft through its collaborations with industry leaders such as Harman, Elektrobit (EB) Wireless, and NIS GLONASS, has successfully created a wide range of software solutions for connected telematics and infotainment systems.
