iMetrik M2M Announces Release of its Cellular Gateway with Local Area Connect

By Calvin Azuri August 03, 2011

iMetrik M2M has announced that its technical team has successfully completed the development of its Cellular Gateway unit. Designed as a technology platform, Cellular Gateway is capable of transforming the Machine to Machine world with its plug and play system offering which can help in deploying a complete wireless M2M solution in a single step process.

The WAN/PAN gateway from iMetrick M2m is a part of the total solution which the company currently markets. The plug-and-play system has been built with battery-powered sensors capable of carrying on wireless communication over the Personal Area Network to the gateway unit. iMetrik's gateway unit communicates over the Wide Area Network by employing its global GSM network. Users employing the gateway are provided access to the remote end points through the company's web application which can help them monitor and control any asset. Since iMetrik provides automatic coverage in more than 120 countries, the Gateway is shipped pre-activated so users are saved the trouble of tying up with local wireless providers.

With just a computer or smart phone and Internet access a user can start using the gateway unit. Business enterprise customers interested in harnessing the Machine-to-Machine technology, don't have to go through the complicated process of setting up hardware components and are saved the motions of having to negotiate with mobile carriers or go through the laborious process of developing a web application.

The gateway's technological design can effectively employ both choice and dimensioning of radio-transmission, micro-controller, and power components to enable optimized configuration which can provide maximum range and stability without consuming excess power. Since the Gateway unit is extremely flexible, it is capable of meeting global frequency regulations for wireless signals which makes it ideal for usage across various scenarios.

In a release, Michel St-Pierre, CEO of iMetrik M2M, said that “I consider what our company has put together a breakthrough for the industry, proving that we have a clear vision into the M2M market's future. Our team's combined expertise in Telecom, M2M and Software and Hardware development has been demonstrated through committed delivery with the highest quality and most cost-efficient service business model. We are now ready to address the clients who have been waiting patiently for this system.”
