How IIoT Can Make Workplaces Safer

By

The Industrial IoT Conference is happening in about a month, and we’ve been speaking with our speakers to get a bit of a preview of what attendees should expect from the conference.

Here, we spoke to Ted Smith, CEO and President, Corvex Connected Safety, who will be a featured speaker in the following session:

Making Workplaces Safer with IoT: Digital transformation is occurring rapidly in most industries, and yet workplace safety continues to lag behind in terms of processes and connectivity. Ironically, the ROI of real-time, contextual data gathered and managed as part of a connected safety strategy is both massive and immediate – and in some cases, life-saving. Using IoT technology to integrate workers within a connected safety environment also yields rewards that go beyond injury prevention and reduced costs. The power of an engaged workforce where safety is concerned can result in tremendous enhancements to productivity, increased operational efficiencies, stronger training metrics and even greater worker recruitment and retention.

For nearly two decades, Smith has been deeply involved in the application of emerging technologies to solve problems surrounding supply chain, risk, workplace safety and other business issues. He has worked in executive leadership roles at global organizations as well as successful startup ventures.

Here is a little preview of his thoughts:
