AT&T Smart Cities and Dallas Innovation Alliance Team Up for Environment and to Engage Citizens

AT&T Smart Cities has announced the launch of the new DIA Smart Cities Living Lab powered by AT&T (Living Lab), a multi-phased smart cities project in Dallas. The project is spearheaded by the Dallas Innovation Alliance (DIA) in collaboration with AT&T and other technology leaders in the public and private sector, according to the announcement. AT&T, a Foundational Partner for the DIA, said it used its smart cities framework to help the City of Dallas develop and apply a holistic strategy to address some of its most significant challenges. Dallas is among the eight cities participating in the AT&T Smart Cities spotlight cities initiative.

For the past year, AT&T has worked with the DIA and the City of Dallas to bring together some of the largest and most innovative IoT solution providers in the world. Dallas is now one of the first U.S. cities to have an active living laboratory to showcase smart cities technology.

The City of Dallas and the DIA share a strategic vision to use the Living Lab pilot as a way to measure and evaluate the social and environmental impact of smart cities solutions. After months of planning, the first phase of the Living Lab project is now officially underway, with the goal of making Dallas a more connected, sustainable city.
