IoT Evolution World Week in Review: AT&T, HARMON, IoT Evolution Expo

By

Hello, friends. This is the IoT Evolution World Week in Review, and we’re wrapping up a hugely successful IoT Evolution Expo in Las Vegas this week. We’re tired, cranky and elated that we spent such an awesome week with you amazing IoT experts. So, thanks for that.

In our lead story this week, during its keynote address, AT&T announced that it will launch a pilot program for a new CAT-M1 network this year. The new service will support a new generation of IoT devices and services on the AT&T 4G LTE network, said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, AT&T Internet of Things Solutions.

And now, the news:

HARMAN was recognized with a Business Impact award for their innovations in developing connected workplace solutions. While much is being written about the distributed workforce, virtual working and digital collaboration, the fact is the majority of employees still “come to work” each day, gathering in physical locations.

Customer satisfaction and expectation metrics are vital benchmarks for today’s companies. The ability to match smooth, authentic and engaging experiences with customer needs and wants is a surefire approach for success. And companies that do not properly build the right technology tools to exceed expectations are doomed for failure. Customer experience has significantly evolved with the emergence of web business and social media based engagement, and consumers are starting to expect the same experience from other service providers.

This week on the IoT Time Podcast, I took a minute away from the IoT Evolution Expo to give you a rundown of some of the events during the show. And all week I’ve been recording special video episodes of the podcast which will start hitting the airwaves next week.

There’s plenty more to read, listen to and watch, so visit us on IoT Evolution World for all the IoT news, my friends. Now’s the time to put the next IoT Evolution Expo in Fort Lauderdale into your calendar. Also, please get in touch with us when you have stories. As always, if you have questions, comments, input or abuse, please send it to editorial director Ken Briodagh at [email protected] or on Twitter @KenBriodagh.
