Dell Joins Kepware IoT Alliance

By

The IoT is gaining acceptance at the highest levels, from the C-suite to the boardroom, and, according to a recent Genpact Research Institute survey, more than 80 percent of executives agree that IoT adoption will be critical to the future success of their companies.

Unfortunately, the same report said that only 25 percent have a clear strategy for IoT execution. Kepware Technologies established its IoT Alliance to help companies remediate that lapse, and now Dell has joined the team, according to a recent announcement. The alliance helps reduce risk and time to market for Industrial IoT hardware and software providers and strives to give customers tools that will execute IoT strategies with proven, interoperable IoT solutions.

As part of the IoT Alliance, Dell will use Kepware's KEPServerEX connectivity platform to feed industrial data to its Edge Gateway 5000 Series. The Gateway 5000 is Kepware Certified for IoT, validating interoperability between KEPServerEX and the Edge Gateway hardware.

“Kepware is the lynchpin for providing industrial connectivity to an IoT partner ecosystem,” said Jason Shepherd, director, IoT Strategy and Partnerships, Dell. “Our collaboration allows customers to get their industrial IoT projects up and running quickly for faster solution deployment to the field.”

The IoT Alliance Program includes major IoT solutions providers, including Splunk, Informatica and fellow PTC business ThingWorx.

To learn more about how Dell and Kepware are working together to help organizations use IoT technology to solve real market problems, register for Kepware's IoT Webinar Series, “Predict Failures, Extend Machine Life, and Gain RoA.” During the webinar, technical experts from Dell and Kepware will explore the benefits of an IoT-enabled predictive maintenance model, and provide an overview of best practices for implementation.

To find out how you can forge partnerships of your own, designed to grow your IoT business, attend the IoT Evolution Expo, July 11 to 14, at Caesars palace Las Vegas.
