The Internet of Things is staking-up to be the largest and perhaps the most impactful era of accelerated technological advancement in history. You would think that this is a huge opportunity for all those that plan and properly execute and grab their piece of the pie. A closer look found that it is really not that simple.
In China, the China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) and OSIsoft, an operational intelligence specialist company, have announced that they will team up on a smart grid project that will leverage OSIsoft’s PI System as a data infrastructure for real-time data monitoring, analytics and reporting.
Symantec, the global cybersecurity giant, has taken aim at the IoT’s Connected Car market, and the hackers determined to find a breach and initiate a “Zero Day” scenario. The Symantec Anomaly Detection for Automotive (ADA) is a software solution designed to protect IoT-enabled cars against never-before-seen attacks by looking for unauthorized attempts to access and other “anomalies” and blocking them until they can be verified.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and GE Digital have entered into a strategic agreement to unite HPE’s IoT tech and GE’s Predix platform with the goal of taking the Industrial IoT by the scruff of the neck and shaking it until it gets with the program. Metaphorically, of course. We hope.
