relayr Announces Strategic Acquisition of Proximetry

relayr, a global Enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) platform provider, has recently announced its plans for a strategic acquisition of Proximetry with the goal of propelling its Industrial IoT (IIoT) initiatives forward, completing its technology stack, and expanding its ability to deliver new solutions beyond Manufacturing, Smart Buildings, Retail, and Retrofitting the Transportation and Energy/Utilities markets. In addition, this will expand relayr’s already strong and growing partner ecosystem.

This acquisition was made possible by a recent Series B funding round. Along with the company’s organic growth, the addition of Proximetry will grow the global team by more than 50 people and add offices in San Diego and Katowice.

Over the last decade, Proximetry has built a customer base across industrial vertical markets, with smart cities companies, smart transportation vendors, and utilities using its device management capabilities and global industrial suppliers. Proximetry’s technology will enhance relayr’s capabilities in large-scale device management, security, and firmware management and it will add a significant number of industrial protocols to the relayr catalog.

The companies are working closely together to ensure a smooth integration of the technologies into one, complete IoT architecture. This end-to-end IoT technology stack – from the physical things, like machines, to sensors, gateways and cloud enablement – is key to successfully implementing the large scale deployment of connected devices. This system-wide thought process is imperative to collecting, processing, and analyzing the big data in order to achieve the necessary business outcomes.
